Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 4, 2026
UseDesktop ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the UseDesktop desktop application, cloud services, and the website at usedesktop.com.
1. Local-First Architecture
UseDesktop is designed with a local-first approach. By default, screen recordings, screenshots, local AI inference, agent execution logs, preferences, credentials, downloaded models, and local SQLite databases are processed and stored on your device.
2. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, profile image URL, and authentication credentials. If you opt into cloud features, prompts, audio, screenshots, replay sync data, and related metadata may be transmitted to our servers to provide those features.
3. Product Workflow Data
When you use Desktop, app.usedesktop.com, or connected automation infrastructure, workflow traces, screenshots, UI states, labels, verifier results, model outputs, evaluation runs, and related metadata may be processed to provide the features you enable. This can include sending selected data to cloud execution, model testing, evaluation, or training infrastructure according to your workspace settings, opt-in choices, or contract.
4. Website Analytics & Cookies
On usedesktop.com, we use Google Analytics only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner. Google Analytics may collect pages viewed, referrers, browser and device information, approximate location, and interactions with the website. Google may set cookies or similar identifiers when analytics is enabled. The app domain at app.usedesktop.com does not load Google Analytics. Your analytics preference is stored locally in your browser.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use information to provide and improve the application and cloud services, process cloud inference requests, run workflow capture and evaluation features, communicate with you, detect misuse, prevent abuse, and maintain service security.
6. AI Training Data
We do not use your personal data, screen recordings, conversations, or agent execution data to train general AI models by default. Workflow data is used for training, evaluation, RL, dataset creation, or model improvement only when enabled by your product settings, explicit opt-in, workspace instruction, or written agreement.
7. Screen Recording & Perception
The perception engine may capture screen content, window titles, running applications, and UI elements to enable automation features. You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate rights to capture third-party content.
8. Data Storage & Security
Local data is stored in your operating system application data directory. Credentials are stored in your OS keyring. Cloud data is encrypted in transit and stored using industry-standard infrastructure.
9. Third-Party Services
We may integrate with Google OAuth, Google Analytics, AI model providers, cloud compute providers, Cloudflare, Telegram, and other providers needed to operate the service. Each provider is subject to its own privacy policy.
10. Offline Mode
UseDesktop can operate fully offline. In offline mode, no data is transmitted to our servers or any third party.
11. International Users
UseDesktop is operated from South Korea and may use service providers in South Korea, the United States, and other countries. By using the Service, you understand that information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws than your country of residence.
12. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, or delete your account and cloud data.
13. Data Retention
Local data remains on your device until you delete it. Cloud data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the service, satisfy workspace or contract requirements, and maintain security records. Account deletion removes associated cloud data within 30 days unless retention is legally or contractually required.
14. Children’s Privacy
UseDesktop is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the application or via email.
16. Contact Us
If you have questions or concerns about this policy or your data, contact us at support@usedesktop.com.
